Mark Toogood
Associate Trainer
Hi, I’m Mark. After 30 years in primary education, with much of that time spent as a Headteacher, I made a career change that has brought me incredible fulfilment - becoming a professional celebrant. After a brief time in the Ministry of Defence, I became very interested in this exciting role. While researching celebrant training options, one company really stood out to me - The Celebrant Circle!
I feel extremely fortunate to have benefitted from the extensive knowledge and enthusiasm in the Circle. The on-going opportunities - and level of support offered - is unique in the business. Our community of celebrants continue learning and developing well after the initial training, thus creating a supportive ‘family’ who are there to offer each other advice and ideas.
As an Associate Trainer at TCC, I aim to combine my background in education with my experience as a celebrant to guide and support others on their celebrancy journey.
I feel privileged to be part of this rewarding profession. Whether working with couples to create their dream wedding or helping families celebrate the life of a loved one, it is an honour to craft personal and unique ceremonies.
When not working as a celebrant, you can find me out on long bike rides (yes, lycra is involved - sorry!) or treading the boards in a local amateur dramatic group. I’m also a governor at my village school and volunteer for the North Bristol Foodbank. Above all, I love to spend my time with my family, especially as I have just recently become a proud grandad!
